The Firm
Longevity
The Law Office of Christopher L. Davis was established in
1995. It has provided uninterrupted litigation and trial
services since then. Its representations, services, and
outcomes have been reported in:
- Texas Lawyer
- American Lawyer
- The Dallas Morning News
- Top Fifty Jury Verdicts in Texas (2010)
- Body Shop Business News
Civil Litigation Services
The firm's business model is based on the small and/or solo
practice law firm that was common in an earlier era. Specifically,
the firm is a general civil practice that represents individuals,
families, and small to mid-size businesses in a variety of matters
and disputes.
The firm seldom handles matters involving criminal prosecutions,
but it has realized some of its greatest successes in civil
lawsuits with criminal implications involving:
- false arrest.
- malicious prosecution.
- antitrust violations.
- fraud against the government.
Practice Areas
The primary practice areas of the firm are:
- Commercial/Consumer Litigation
- Personal Injury Litigation
- Family Law Litigation
Benefits and Cost of Services
Key benefits of our small practice business model
are direct access to the attorney actually handling
your representation and flexibility in terms of the
attorney compensation structure.
Contingent Fee Representation
Personal injury and consumer cases are typically
handled on a contingent fee basis. Under this agreement,
the firm's fees and case expenses are paid from the
recovery, so the client does not have to pay out of
their pocket for the legal and investigative services
and case expenses.
Hourly/Blended Rate Litigation
The firm's organization permits flexibility in fee
structuring for commercial litigation matters. We
represent a number of clients on unique, individually
tailored, reduced hourly/blended rate fee structures.
Many of the firm's clients originate by referral from
large regional law firms whose fee committee rules do
not permit this unique attorney compensation structure.
Hourly Rate Litigation
The firm's hourly rates are consistent with traditional
attorney billing, and are adjusted periodically based
on market considerations. The firm's hourly attorney
rates are generally 10-20% below those billed by
mid-sized and large law firms in the Texas market area.
Our considerably lower cost structure allows us to
offer savings to our clients, without sacrificing skill
and expertise.
